We live next door to Fallen & Felled: Fallen & Felled is a timber merchant and furniture-making studio offering a sustainable alternative to imported timber. They mill felled urban trees from in and around London, turning them into high-quality boards.

Our MAKE project-based classes are a great way to put the CORE SKILLS techniques into action. These projects have been designed with the more experienced woodworker in mind, but are suitable for anyone who knows their way around a toolbox.

Helen Welch and Sam Brown – between them they have over seventy years of professional practice. Both have run their own furniture and cabinetmaking businesses as well as being experienced and enthusiastic teachers of the craft. Their skill sets encompass both traditional handwork and modern machining practice. Sam loves Japanese joinery, and Helen has spent years studying the work of her favourite makers, Alan Peters and George Nakashima.  Whether you are just starting or have been making for a long time, Helen and Sam have the know-how to take your technical ability to the next level.
