  • Course fees shall be paid in full before the start of the course unless we have agreed to an alternative arrangement. Any deposits paid are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation by yourself.
  • By completing a booking you agree to attend on the days specified in your Booking Confirmation, or Paypal receipt.
  • Paypal handles all of our website transactions. You don't need a Paypal account to use this service, just make sure you have your debit or card details to hand. We accept BACS transfers on request. If your company or institution is paying the course fee and would prefer to be invoiced, then please email your request to
  • Students must be 18 or over at the of the start class.
  • Directions to the workshop can be found on the Contact Us - Directions page of the website. These give you clear instructions on how to get to our front door and will stop you getting lost. Do NOT follow Google's directions because they will send you to the road at the back of the building. 
  • Our courses are not suitable for non-EEA nationals who do not have existing immigration permission or a Visitor visa.


       We are a very small school committed to passing on our skills and knowledge. Please bear in mind that while we aim to be as flexible as possible, due to the small numbers on our courses, any last minute cancellations could be detrimental to our programme and our ability to run courses in the future.

  •  If you wish to cancel or transfer your place on a course your request should be made in writing.
  • Your course fee will be refunded only if you give at least 14 days notice in writing prior to the start date of the course, of your intention to cancel. Cancellations are subject to a 20% admin fee which will be deducted from your refund.
  • Refunds will NOT be given if we receive your cancellation notice with less than 14 days notice or after the course has started. 
  • If you need to reschedule your course please give at least 14 days notice.  We cannot guarantee that a suitable alternative date will be available. We are under no obligation to provide alternative dates and do so at our discretion.  If a suitable alternative date is not available, we will refund the course fee less a 20% admin fee of the total cost of the course as long as you have given 14 days notice prior to the start of the course. 
  • If you wish to reschedule within 14 days of the start of your course, and we are able to find someone else to fill that place, then you may choose an alternative date. However, if we are unable to fill the place then you will not be able to reschedule and you will forfeit the booking fee. We will not reschedule your class if you fail to turn up for the course after it has started.
  • CANCELLATION BY OURSELVES. We reserve the right to cancel a course. In this event, you will be advised of vacancies or alternative dates. If you do not wish to book on an alternative date any course fees you have paid will be refunded in full. We will NOT refund any fees incurred by you for prebooked travel or accommodation. 
  • CANCELLATION INSURANCE. When booking a class we recommend taking out insurance in case of cancellation.  Companies such as Cancelsure offer protection for such an eventuality.
  • Your booking confirmation will have directed you to the Contact Us - Directions page of the website where you will find clear instructions detailing how to get to our front door. You will not be able to transfer to another date if you become lost because you didn't follow the instructions, nor will you be entitled to a refund.


  • Gift cards must be redeemed by the date specified on the card. Please make your booking request before the expiry date. Booking requests received after the expiry date will not be honoured.
  • If the gift card recipient has booked a specific date for their class and fails to give at least 14 days notice that they are unable to attend that session, they will not get the opportunity to reschedule the class nor will they or the purchaser of the gift card receive a refund. 
  • Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Gift cards are non-refundable.


Working with wood is not a risk-free undertaking. You should expect that you will receive the occasional cut, bruise or splinter.  However, the risks can be minimized by following these simple instructions.
  • Do not put your hands in the path of a sharp tool, such as a knife or chisel.
  • Do wear shoes or boots that will protect your feet from tools and materials falling from the workbench. Sandles, ballet slippers and pumps are not suitable.
  • Do wear a dust mask and any other personal protection when instructed to do so.
  • Do not wear loose scarves and necklaces. Please tie back long hair when working with portable power tools.
  • Do not wander into the work areas of the other businesses that share the workshop.
  • Do not go into the machine shop unaccompanied by your tutor.
  • Do not use any of our power tools without being instructed in its safe use and potential dangers.
